The issue of transportation is crucial to our district. Quality roads, improved access and better planning are required to move our vital goods and services and improve economic growth. Judy’s approach involves both business and citizens to cooperate in solving this challenge. During the 1984 Olympics, traffic was at its highest activity ever, yet through government/business cooperative planning traffic flow actually improved. Judy would seek to reintroduce many of the effective methods used during the Olympics to reduce congestion, increase efficiency and aid the average citizen’s quality of life. By looking at innovative volunteer solutions we may be able to prevent additional taxes to fund highways expansion. Long-term future planning must be part of the solution and Judy will fight for that.
Judy's approach to transportation and infrastructure does the following:
-
Promotes solutions to build, operate and/or maintain California roads and bridges.
-
Promotes the development of technologically advanced water reclamation plants.
-
Is committed to working with California’s leaders on identifying satisfactory solutions to California’s traffic congestion; support mass rapid transit options in highly congested areas.
-
Requires that all of California’s infrastructure contracts are negotiated with local contractors, thereby stimulating California’s economy while strengthening its infrastructure.
-
Promotes fresh concepts to satisfy California’s ever growing need for water and electricity.
